Message headers contain important information about email, including where the message came from, the IP address of the source email server, any email servers that have relayed the message, and the receiving server.

Message header properties help track email problems and SPAM. Here is how to locate message headers in bMail (Gmail):

  1. Log in to bMail
  2. Open the message you'd like to view headers for.
  3. Click the down arrow next to Reply, at the top of the message pane.
  4. Select Show Original.

The full headers will appear in a new window. From here you can download/print into a PDF to share with your IT consultant to analyze.
