Left Navigation (Application Navigator) Menu Changes February 2019

The information below only affected the self service section for non-ITIL users.  For ITIL users we removed some menu options which didn't contain any data

 

What is the Left Navigation Bar (Application Navigator)?

The application navigator, or left navigation bar, provides access to all applications and the modules they contain, enabling users to quickly find information and services.

Why make changes to the Left Navigation Bar (Application Navigator) in ServiceNow? 

Customer convenience.  We have made these changes to put the most-used items at the top, and use terms that are more easily understandable for users.  The idea is to better organize the left navigation menu, to cut down on the time it takes for user to find what they are looking for. 

What updates and changes have been made?

Menu items were re-ordered, updated to open in a new tab and edited to remove repetitive menu items. Here are some of the menu items that were changed: 

 

Why are the menu options that I see in ServiceNow different from other colleagues? 

Permissions are customized in the application navigator to provide different modules based on user role.
