Known Error: "Could not connect to the GlobalProtect service" VPN error on Mac

Users of macOS Ventura or later, with access to an administrator account, may be unable to connect to GlobalProtect with "Connection Failed" error due to disabling the process the software uses to communicate.

Solution

Navigate to:

Apple menu-> System Settings-> General-> Login Items-> "Allow to run in the Background"

And be sure the entry for "Palo Alto Networks"  is enabled:
