Subject: Big News! Introducing Cellular Optimization Plans for Campus
IST Telecom is pleased to announce a campus-wide savings program for all AT&T and Verizon cellular subscribers. We are excited to share these details with you!
IST Telecom analyzed the usage patterns of campus cellular customers to determine how to best optimize cellular plans and save departments money. We believe department budget officers will appreciate that the past full year of billing usage data was used to support these planned changes. Based on usage trends and the new optimized plans, we estimate annual savings of more than $300K across the campus!
A simplified approach to managing cellular plans on campus will be implemented to leverage and optimize campus pooled minutes as outlined below.
Based on each individual’s usage, IST Telecom will place each subscriber on the optimal plan for them. No action is required on the part of departments or individuals to take advantage of these savings. Ongoing analysis will be done, and actions taken by IST Telecom, to keep each subscriber in their optimal plan throughout the year.
Plans available to campus cellular subscribers will now include three plans with talk/text/data, and one data-only plan (for tablets and mobile hotspot devices). Campus subscribers will be placed on talk/text/data plans as follows:
All plans for both AT&T and Verizon include unlimited texting and data. An additional fee is charged for those who use tethering as part of their plan. This change will affect nationwide plans only, and does not apply to or affect international plans.
More details about plan pricing and how pooled minutes are managed for both carriers will be provided in a subsequent email. We are planning to implement these changes in late September, 2018, and will share more information in a few weeks.
To successfully reach these target goals, we have set an end date for the old plans and packages. Any new cellular requests received after August 23rd, 2018, will be mapped to the new plan choices. Our cellular website will be updated to show the new information before August 27th, 2018.
