Introduction

Users who have changed their CalNet username currently lose access to eduroam and are no longer able to manage their Berkeley-IoT devices. This is because username changes do not propagate into the Wi-Fi service.

After changing a CalNet username, the user must log into the GetOnline website https://getonline.berkeley.edu/wifi/ so that your new account will be automatically provisioned. You can then submit a ticket to ITCS or STS (see links below) to ask that your devices be migrated from your old CalNet ID to your new CalNet ID.

Berkeley-IoT devices registered to the old account will continue to work for about a month, but will then disconnect if not assigned to an active CalNet account.
