How to remove users from the Perceptive Content system, formerly known as ImageNow

A knowledge base article about How to remove users from the Perceptive Content system, formerly known as ImageNow provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal

Background

As of July 2017 users with the role of Functional Owners in the Imagine system can administer their user groups and thus they can add and or remove users as needed. This is done through CalGroups. This article lists the steps to remove users.

Assumptions

  1. The user with the role of Imagine Functional Owner is already part of the system and has been previously given this role
  2. The user with the role of Imagine Functional Owner knows the Imagine groups the user should be added to

Resolution

  1. Go to calgroups.berkeley.edu
  2. In the Search field, type the group name you want to edit, for example "AP BearBuy"
  3. In the Search Results window, click the link with the group name
  4. Note - do not click the link that includes the word Comp-group name
  5. Once in the groups window, search for the user you would like to remove by either scrolling down or by filtering based on the user's name (after the Filter for field is set to All Members, add the user's name in the Member name field, click Apply Filter or hit enter)
  6. Select the user's name to be removed by checking the check box to the left of their name
  7. Click on Remove selected members
  8. The selected user is then removed through Calgroups which will then immediately synchronize with Perceptive Content
