A knowledge base article about How to install Duo Desktop on a self-managed computer provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
If you don't have the Self-Service Application (click here to determine if your machine is Berkeley desktop), you must first install Berkeley Security Software (BSS) to get the Duo Desktop application.
Note: You will need admin rights (the ability to install applications) on your computer to install BSS. If you need help with installation, please contact itcshelp@berkeley.edu
If you have the Self-Service Application on your computer, click here for how to install Duo Desktop via self-service.
Once BSS is installed, look for the Self-Service application and Duo Desktop download.
Please note that Duo Desktop security checks require the latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge browser. If you are running Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) it may be identified as out of date and fail security checks. In that case, you can either install non-ESR alongside ESR or use a different browser when accessing applications that require Duo Desktop.
