How to change the name on a service to a CUSTOM name (non-department, non-person).

(An example of a CUSTOM name is “Front Desk” or “Programmer cubicle” “Back Door Buzzer”)

 

Once you are logged into the Telecom Catalog click "Self Service" in the left nav-bar, click "Service Catalog".

a)  Click "Funding or Service Ownership" use the "Change Name on Service" form ( https://ucb.service-now.com )

b)  Type in the phone number (#1) and move it from the collection box to the list box on the right using the arrows in the middle (#2)

c)  Select Subscriber Type "Other" (#3 below)

d) Click the magnifying glass (#4)

e) When the new box opens up, click the blue NEW button (#5)

f) Type in a custom name (#6) (that is not your department or person’s name)

g) Enter your L4 unit (#7)

h) Click submit (#8)

 

 

The changes will be reflected on your next IST billing statement.  Please note that all calls made during the current month, including those made prior to today, may appear on your billing statement under the old or new name, depending on when the call was received by our system.
