A knowledge base article about How does a guest access Wi-Fi? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
Visiting scholars, visiting student researchers, consultants or other guests to UC Berkeley who use eduroam at their home institutions should automatically connect to eduroam at UC Berkeley with unrestricted access to the Internet. If you are unable to connect to eduroam please reach out to the support group at your home institution for assistance.
Those without existing eduroam credentials can access the open wireless network, Berkeley-Visitor. Berkeley-Visitor provides basic Internet access to anyone within range of the UC Berkeley builds that support the service and does not require any credentials to connect.
Please Note: Neither the eduroam nor Berkeley-IoT Wi-Fi networks support CalNet Sponsored Guest Accounts.
To access Berkeley-Visitor
Berkeley-Visitor is an unsupported service provided for the convenience of our visitors. At this time our help desks can not provide assistance for visitors having difficulty connecting or using it.
Members of the UC Berkeley community who have CalNet ID's shoiuld connect to the eduroam or Berkeley-IoT Wi-Fi networks instead of Berkeley-Visitor. For assistance connecting to either of those networks please reach out to your support organization:
