Students in a course site have the option to submit as an assignment when they are embedding content using the Rich Content Editor. Submitting media as an assignment provides the instructor with a timestamped, non-editable copy of the original media.
How (as a student) to submit media as an assignment when embedding using the Rich Content Editor
With the Rich Content Editor open on your assignment submission page, follow the instructions in How do I embed Kaltura media in bCourses using the Rich Content Editor? but ensure that you designate the video as an assignment submission:
- If you open the Embed Settings dialog (gear icon), you will see a "Submit as Assignment" choice; toggle this on before you click the "</>Embed" button.
- If you don't open the Embed Settings dialog, but instead just click the "</>Embed", you will be asked if you want to submit as an assignment; select "Yes, please".
Your content will be submitted as an assignment, which means that even if you edit the original media later, it will not change what your instructor receives as your assignment submission.
