How do I license Adobe software for shared devices?

Adobe Shared Device Licenses (SDL) are available for use on shared computers in UC Berkeley labs, classrooms, and locations where computers are used by more than one person.

How do they work?

A Product Profile is created and configured with the following parameters:

Access can be limited to persons using their Enterprise ID’s or opened to allow anyone with a personal Adobe ID to access Creative Cloud apps on a UC Berkeley computer
SDL computers can be further locked down by specifying the IP address or range for which the license will work. Moving a computer to a subnet not included in the profile will deactivate the Adobe software.
Shared Device Licenses are assigned to devices based on their IP address or the package used to install the Adobe CC software.

Units/Departments requesting SDL’s will designate an eligible member who will be granted Admin rights to create and download the packages to install Adobe CC apps.

Additional Terms

SDL’s are not for use on personally-owned computers, or UCB-owned computers assigned to one person.
SDL’s do not count against the 2 concurrent activation limit.

SDL’s can be requested by contacting software@berkeley.edu and including the person(s) to be granted Admin rights to create and download the packages.
