Installing an operating system (OS) on a VPS
Self-managed Virtual Private Servers (VPS) are either delivered as virtual bare-metal "hardware," or with a Windows or Linux OS installed. For licensing reasons, the only installed guest operating systems that can be delivered at no additional cost at this time are Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022, Window Server 2025, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. If you would like to use a different operating system you must install it yourself.
Follow the directions in the KB article "How do I mount an .iso to my virtual machine?"
Once you have a disk image attached perform a soft reset (ctrl-alt-insert while the console is in focus) and you should now be able to boot from the install image. You can request a time delay be added if the VPS requires you to interact with your console session to mount your disk image.
