A knowledge base article about How do I create a Social Login? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
Alums at UC Berkeley can use Social Logins to access limited campus services, such as my.berkeley.edu.
Instructions for Creating a Social Login
- Go to my.berkeley.edu
- Click Sign In
- Click the Alumni, Student, Faculty & Staff button
- Select the appropriate button to log in via CalNet, Google or LinkedIn
- Students, employees, and alums with active CalNet accounts: select CalNet to log in
- Alums without CalNet credentials: select Google or LinkedIn to link your alumni record and social account.
- When your social login screen appears, log in using your usual Google or LinkedIn credentials, including MFA.
- If you do not have MFA set up on your chosen social login, you must turn MFA on to use my.berkeley.edu.
- You may see a message stating information will be shared with Cirrus. Click Continue.
- Click the Match Your Record button appears.
- Enter your personal email address in the Find your existing account field and press Submit.
- This is the non-berkeley.edu email address you used while at campus; it may be your recovery email address. It does not need to be the email address associated with Google or LinkedIn.
- If the match is successful, you will be prompted to enter a verification code. Navigate to your personal email inbox to find the verification email from Cirrus, and enter the code from the email.
- Your CalNet account and social account are linked. You can now log in to my.berkeley.edu using your social account.
- If the match is not successful, try a different email address
- If we are unable to match your record and email address, fill out this form to open a support request.
