How do I create a Social Login?

Alums at UC Berkeley can use Social Logins to access limited campus services, such as my.berkeley.edu.

Instructions for Creating a Social Login

  1. Go to my.berkeley.edu
  2. Click Sign In
  3. Click the Alumni, Student, Faculty & Staff button
  4. Select the appropriate button to log in via CalNet, Google or LinkedIn
    1. Students, employees, and alums with active CalNet accounts: select CalNet to log in
    2. Alums without CalNet credentials: select Google or LinkedIn to link your alumni record and social account.
      1. When your social login screen appears, log in using your usual Google or LinkedIn credentials, including MFA.
        1. If you do not have MFA set up on your chosen social login, you must turn MFA on to use my.berkeley.edu.
      2. You may see a message stating information will be shared with Cirrus. Click Continue.
      3. Click the Match Your Record button appears.
      4. Enter your personal email address in the Find your existing account field and press Submit.
        1. This is the non-berkeley.edu email address you used while at campus; it may be your recovery email address.  It does not need to be the email address associated with Google or LinkedIn.
      5. If the match is successful, you will be prompted to enter a verification code. Navigate to your personal email inbox to find the verification email from Cirrus, and enter the code from the email.
        1. Your CalNet account and social account are linked. You can now log in to my.berkeley.edu using your social account.
      6. If the match is not successful, try a different email address
      7. If we are unable to match your record and email address, fill out this form to open a support request.
