A knowledge base article about How do I Check my Calnet Student Status to Determine Eligibility for Campus Licensed Software? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
Generally, a student's CalNet status must include the affiliation "registered-students" to access UC Berkeley licensed software and resources, such as a Zoom Pro account. One way students, faculty, and staff can check their status is by doing the following:
- Go to: http://software.berkeley.edu and click on "What Am I Eligible For?"

- Enter your @berkeley email address when prompted, then enter your Calnet ID and passphrase, and finally, accept the Duo 2-factor authentication push.

- Once authenticated, you will see two tabs: "Available Software and Services", which will list all the software you have access to, and a second tab called "Help"

- Click "Help," and then check your affiliations under "User Information".
► If you are a student, one of your affiliations needs to be "registered-students" to be able to download, install, and authenticate to the MS Office site to be able to use Office apps.
► If one of your affiliations is "not-registered-students," you will not have access to Microsoft Office or most of the software on the software.berkeley.edu site until your status changes to "registered-students".
The screenshot below shows an example of the staff affiliations needed to access UC Berkeley licensed software. If you notice, under "User Information" there is an entry for "affiliations_staff: true". This gives a staff member access to Microsoft, Adobe, and all other UCB-licensed software on this site.

Faculty would need to have "affiliations_academic: true," and students would need to have both "Affiliations_student: true" and "Affiliations_StudentType: registered-students" to have full access to any software licensed by UC Berkeley for them.
