Changing Firewall Rules

All hardware firewall changes for virtual machines run in the bIT Cloud Service should be requested through an email to the Cloud Team (cloud-ticket@berkeley.edu. If necessary, they will handle coordination with other bIT delivery teams to process the request.

IMPORTANT

When submitting your firewall request please include the firewall rule(s) you would like using the format below. This will allow us to better interpret your request and avoid a potential outage.

1 - Source of traffic (IP, IP range, or subnet) with DNS name or description
2 - Destination (IP and hostname of your server)
3 - Port(s)
4 - (Optional) Any other information that will assist us with processing your request

Examples:
1 - Campus network including VPN
2 - ist-pwf01.ist.berkeley.edu (128.32.240.130)
3 - 445, 80, and 443
4 - Server will be used as a web server

1 - The world 
2 - ist-pfm01.ist.berkeley.edu (128.32.240.131)
3 - 445, 16000, and 16001
4 - File sharing and FileMaker management ports

1 - 128.32.4.0/24 (UHS staff subnet)
2 - uhs-ddb01.ist.1918.berkeley.edu
