How to Sign In to YouTube as a Special Purpose Account (SPA)

To use YouTube with a Special Purpose Account, you must first authenticate into the SPA's Google Workspace session in a separate browser window. This ensures that you are acting as the department identity rather than your personal account.

Open an incognito or private browser window.
Navigate to https://bmail.berkeley.edu.
Sign in using your SPA credentials:
- Login ID: spa-name+YourCalNetID
- Password: Your standard CalNet passphrase.

Once you are logged in to the SPA's bMail inbox, open a new tab in that same incognito window and go to https://www.youtube.com.
Click the SIGN IN button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
YouTube will automatically detect the active SPA session and log you in. You can now manage the department's channel, playlists, or uploads.
