A knowledge base article about How can I find the Media Entry ID? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
The Media Entry ID is a unique identifier for each media entry. Providing this information during service requests or problem tickets is helpful to the support team. Here are a few ways you can find your media's Media Entry ID. (Note that there is no longer a way to find the entry id for media embedded in bCourses content. If you need to tell us about a particular embedded video, please provide the URL of the page where the video is found, and, if there are multiple videos on the page, tell us which video it is.)
Option 1: From a URL link in Media Gallery (bCourses only)
- While in the Media Gallery, right click on the desired video and choose Copy Link Address.
- The link you copied will start with https://kaf.berkeley.edu/media/t/. The Media Entry ID is the set of numbers of and letters that appear after /t/. For example, for the link address https://kaf.berkeley.edu/media/t/1_lr85owbq/152284772, the Media Entry ID would be 1_lr85owbq.
Option 2: From any location where you see the media
- Right-click on the media and select "Debug Info". This copies a large chunk of info
- Paste what you just copied somewhere.
- Locate the string entryid. The Media Entry ID is the string that follows the /. e.g. if you see "entryid/1_abcd1234/, then the Media entry ID is 1_abcd1234
Option 3: From My Media’s table view (if the video is one you own or are a collaborator on)
- Access My Media in the global navigation (vertical navigation bar on the left) of bCourses or MediaSpace.
- Click on the table view icon (circled below).

- Look for the desired entry and locate the Media Entry ID under the ID column.

Option 4: From the My Media Edit Page (if the video is one you own or are a collaborator on)
- Access My Media in the global navigation (vertical navigation bar on the left) of bCourses or MediaSpace.
- Click on the pencil icon to the right of the desired media OR click on the media's title and from the Actions dropdown menu choose Edit.
- The "Basic Info" window should appear either to the right or below the media player. The Media Entry ID is listed in this window.
