If a Google Group mailing list is listed as a Contact on a service request, or is added as a 'CC:' on email, email from the TelCat system will be able to reach that mailing list only if the list has been configured to accept Public emails. If the list is configured to accept only emails from *.berkeley.edu addresses, the TelCat email will be rejected. For example, if you send an email request for Hostmaster service and you include a Google Group in either the 'To:' or 'cc:' line, TelCat will reply back to the sender and the listed contacts. If the Google Group only accepts incoming mail from *.berkeley.edu addresses, the TelCat reply will be rejected.
If email is rejected, a separate email from will be sent to the original requestor to notify him/her of this situation.
