Essential Access aka Authorized Access - how to view and run reports

Essential Access aka Authorized Access is tracked in ServiceNow.  


To gain access, submit a Service Request to add yourself to the Essential Access Group.  An email will be sent to an person for approval.

Once approved, log into ITSM/HR ServiceNow with your CalNet ID.

On the left-navigation menu, in the filter box, type in 'Essential Access' or 'Authorized Access'.  

You will see Employees and Access Records.  

To run reports, on the left-navigation menu, in the filter box, type in 'Reports' and 'View/Run'. 

Select 'All' and in the search box type in 'Essential Access' or 'Authorized Access'.  

You will see a list of reports that are shared with you. 

Important note:  You have authorization to change to edit these reports.  If you are viewing a report that someone else has created, please respect your co-workers and do not modify their report.  You can copy an existing report and make it your own by clicking on 'Save' and 'Insert and stay', which will copy the report just for you.  Don't forget to change the report title so you know which one is yours.
