The steps below will guide you on connecting to eduroam secure wireless network at UC Berkeley using Windows devices. For a visual walkthrough example of the steps outlined here, see this video.
IMPORTANT: At this time the eduroam passwordless system is for BYOD, or bring your own device, computers. These are personal devices, not owned by the University of California Berkeley. If you have a UC Berkeley owned device, or do not have the Administrator password, please use a username and password to access eduroam.
Ensure you have some form of Wi-Fi or wired network connection.
- Open your preferred web browser and go to the GetOnline passwordless confirmation page, you will be prompted to log in to CalNet if you have not already done so.
- Click Continue to open the enrollment site.
- Ensure that your device's system is detected as Windows.
- Select Join Now and download the SecureW2 JoinNow program.

- You may see this screen during and after the download. Do not close this window until all steps have been completed.

- Locate and run the SecureW2 program titled
WiFi_Universtiy_of_California_Berkeley_Wrapper.exe
- If asked “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” or any other security warnings, select “Yes”
- If the program does not open correctly, right-click the wrapper file and select “Run this program as an administrator”

- The SecureW2 installation window will appear. Select “Next”

- Log into CAS using your CalNet credentials and select “Sign In”. You may be prompted for Two-Factor authentication on your enrolled device.

- The SecureW2 Join Program will automatically begin the installation. Once the configuration is complete, select “Done”.

- You may now close all browsers or tabs that may have been opened during this process.
