The steps below will guide you on connecting to eduroam secure wireless network at UC Berkeley using Linux devices.

Ensure you have some form of Wi-Fi or wired network connection.

  1. Open your preferred web browser and go to the GetOnline passwordless confirmation page, you will be prompted to log in to CalNet if you have not already done so.  
  2. Click Continue to open the enrollment site.
  3. You’ll see a screen prompting you to download a helper application. Please Click JoinNow.

  4. Open a Terminal window, and navigate to the directory that you downloaded the application to. Type sh SecureW2_JoinNow.run to run the application. Do not run the script as root or sudo.
  5. You’ll be prompted to log in using CAS using your CalNet credentials and select “Sign In”.  You may be prompted for Two-Factor authentication on your enrolled device.

You should now be able to select eduroam from the available wireless networks and connect.
