eduroam Wi-Fi passwordless access for iOS/iPad

The steps below will guide you on connecting to eduroam secure wireless network at UC Berkeley using Apple iPad tablets.  If you are setting up an Apple iPhone please follow the iOS/iPhone instructions.

Ensure you have some form of Wi-Fi or cellular network connection.

1. Open Safari and go to the GetOnline passwordless confirmation page, you will be prompted to log in to CalNet if you have not already done so.  
2. On iOS you must use Safari to enroll in eduroam.
3. Click Continue to open the enrollment site.
   
4. Some iOS devices request the desktop version of a web site and this will cause the enrollment page to misidentify the device as macOS.
   • If the enrollment site lists macOS instead of iPhone/iPad, scroll to the bottom of the page under Was your device detected incorrectly? and change the device from macOS to iPhone/iPad before continuing.
5.  Select Sign In and log in with your CalNet credentials and 2-Factor Authentication.
   
6. You may get a message – “cloud.securew2.com” is trying to download a configuration profile.  Do you want to allow this? – Select Allow.
   
7. After the profile is downloaded, you will get a verification message.   Select Close.
   
8. Review the profile in the settings app.  Select “Profile Downloaded” from the left column.

9. An Install Profile screen should appear.  Select “Install”.  Enter your security code (if requested).  

10. You may get a message “Connections from your iPad to this Wi-Fi network will use a non-private MAC address.   Click Install.

11. An Install Profile message may appear.  Select Install.

12. Once the installation is completed, the iOS device should automatically connect to eduroam.
