The steps below will guide you on connecting to eduroam secure wireless network at UC Berkeley using ChromeOS devices.

Ensure you have some form of Wi-Fi or wired network connection

  1. Open Chrome and go to the GetOnline passwordless confirmation page, you will be prompted to log in to CalNet if you have not already done so.  
  2. Click Continue to open the enrollment site.
  3. You’ll see a screen prompting you to download a browser extension. Please make sure that it lists Chromebook as your operating system. Click JoinNow.

  4. You will see the following screens prompting the installation of the browser extension.  Add/Allow/Install/Accept as needed.

  5. You will either be returned to a new page, or a new browser tab will open with a “Download” button.   Click the “Download” button.
    A file called SecureW2.onc will download, and a new browser page will open.

  6. An additional browser tab will open that is titled “Networks”.
  7. Under Import ONC,  Click “Choose File” file and select the most recent SecureW2.onc that you’ve downloaded.

  8. Finally, click on the Wireless icon (next to the clock) and switch to the eduroam network. You’ll need to make sure the following values are set:

You should now be able to select eduroam from the available wireless networks and connect.
