Are you confused about when you submit a repair ticket, and when you should submit a data activation request?  Here are some questions that may help you out:

  1. Was the data port active yesterday or very recently?  (If yes, then there is something wrong with the cable or port and you should submit a repair ticket to https://berkeley.service-now.com)
  2. If the answer is no, then the cable/data port was probably not active recently, and you should submit a data activation request to: https://ucb.service-now.com/.
  3. Do you need a new cable/data port near your desk?  If yes, follow the instructions on Connect to Data Network (Install and Activate New Connection/Cable or Activate Existing Cable), KBT0012543.
  4. If you want to activate an existing data connection, follow the instructions on Connect to Data Network (Install and Activate New Connection/Cable or Activate Existing Cable), KBT0012543.
  5. If you want to view the existing data cable connections for your building, room, etc, follow the instructions on View Cable Connection Data, KBT0012570.
