Demand Management in ITSM/HR instance

Demand Management – tools for capturing, centralizing, and assessing strategic and operational demands.

Ideas Module (ideation module) is integrated with demand management and is an easy way for users to submit ideas for demand for demand managers to assess.

Tracks progress of an idea as it moves through the demand lifecycle (idea to a demand, to a project, enhancement, change, or defect).

Any user can Submit Ideas or Demands

Demand Managers can add stakeholders, requirements, risks, decisions, and resource plans.

Demand Managers and Demand Users can screen and qualify demands

Decision makers can use assessment results and the demand backlog when approving or rejecting

 

Key Concepts and Roles

Key Concepts

Portfolios - categories to manage related programs, projects and demands. Created by it_portfolio_manager role. Typically these are named according to the business units of an organization. 

Stakeholders - a person affected by the demand or who has interest in the demand. One entry per stakeholder : portfolio.

Level of interest - does the stakeholder want to pursue the demand?

Assessment recipient - will the stakeholder receive assessment questionnaires?

Approver - does the stakeholder have authority to approve demands?

Influence - level of influence the user has over the group assessing the demand

Engagement - indication of the way the user is engaged with the demand

Function - function of the stakeholder

Assessments - Demand management comes with the demand assessment metric type, 5 assessment metric categories, and assessment metrics. These can be modified, or new assessments created.

Out of the box demand assessments are 

Size - how big a demand is compared to others

Strategic alignment - how closely the demand aligns with the strategic goals of the organization

Risk - risk compared to other demands

ROI - return on investment compared to other demands

Cost - cost compared to other demands.
