Customizing ServiceNow Notifications

ServiceNow users can change their ServiceNow notification preferences.

To Change Your Notification Preferences

1. Log into ServiceNow and click your profile picture at the top-right of the screen, then click Preferences.

2. Select the Notifications option.

3. On the General tab, you can enable and disable notifications by toggling the Allow Notifications setting. 

WARNING: This is not recommended and will disable all notifications.  Note section below on Advanced Preferences for targeted disablement of individual notifications.

Advanced Preferences

For advanced notifications settings, click Advanced Preferences.

The Advanced Preferences will open in a new window as seen below.

How to Turn Off Specific ServiceNow Notifications
To stop receiving a specific type of alert, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the notification: Find the specific alert name in your filtered search list (e.g., "Incident assigned to my group"). In example below the user has searched for "Incident"
  2. Toggle the setting: Click the toggle switch next to the notification name to turn it Off.
