Berkeley’s content management service for enterprise application development teams is an implementation of Atlassian’s Confluence product, also known as Wikihub. The administration of Confluence is provided by the Application Delivery Release Management Team.

Confluence content is organized into spaces. A space is an area in Confluence that has been created to support a defined purpose. All spaces have a home page and the space serves as the container for wiki pages and other content items such as attachments or images. Each space has a space administrator group, users in the group can set up space permissions (space permissions are granted by group and should not be granted to individual users), request new users be added to the space, set up themes, and handle basic administration. Allowing anonymous users access to attach files, make comments or write any unmonitored text on a Confluence space is not allowed.
Campus application development teams may request a Confluence space for their teams by submitting a request to confluence@berkeley.edu. The request for a space should include the following information.
Note:
⚠️A deleted space is gone forever. It cannot be recovered.
Note: Space Administrators are responsible for requesting new user accounts. Only active UCB employees are eligible for a licensed confluence account.
Space administrators may request adding users by sending an email to confluence@berkeley.edu. The request for adding a user to Confluence must include the following information for the user they would like added to Confluence.
Note: Only space administrators may request to have users added to confluence.
Space administrators are responsible for notifying Confluence administrators when users no longer require access by sending an email to confluence@berkeley.edu and including the name of the user to be removed from Confluence.
