One of our main objectives at the computer facilities is to create a pleasant environment where you can do your academic work. The budgetary restrictions we face each year means that replacement of abused and broken equipment, theft, and damaged materials becomes less of a reality. As a responsible patron we hope you take these cutbacks seriously and take care when using the equipment and other facility resources.
As an authorized user of the computer facilities, you are responsible for the following conditions when using the computer labs:
- No food, drinks, smoking, or chewing tobacco allowed in the facilities. Closed water bottles are permitted when placed on the floor or in a bag. This is not an all inclusive list, please use your judgment and refrain from bringing items into the lab that may soil the computers or desks.
- No cell phone calls inside the facilities. Please step outside to complete your call (but remember to mind your belongings!)
- No loud group conversations or music (you must wear headphones).
- Computer games are not allowed.
- Return all borrowed materials in their original condition before you leave the facility.
- Leave all hardware and furniture in its original place.
- Abide by all computer facility and printing policies. Do not allow others to access your account.
- Each person should only login and use one computer.
- The maximum time allowed away from your terminal is 15 minutes when you notify the consultant on duty. Leaving your computer for longer than 15 minutes will result in the forfeit of your place to the next person on the waitlist.
- Clients are solely responsible for their personal belongings. The computer facilities are not responsible for lost, misplaced or stolen items in the computer facilities.
