A knowledge base article about CalMessages Distribution List FAQs provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
Someone seems to be missing from a distribution list. How can we verify?
Open an incident online https://berkeley.service-now.com/ess/create_incident or email itcshelp@berkeley.edu. Provide the following information in the ticket:
Campus email address and full name of the person who seems to be missing
Name of the distribution list they are missing from
If this person has been dropped more than once, how often they seem to be removed? Does it happen on any given frequency?
Can I add a person to a list manually?
List data is sent from campus employee and student databases to IT to Cerkl; issues with someone getting dropped from a list are due to the user’s record in the source system. We do not add individuals to CalMessages distribution lists.
Can we create new lists for distribution?
In some situations. Email calmessages@berkeley.edu for help. Requests must be approved by the Strategic Communications office. The entire process to create a new distribution list takes 15 business days to complete.
What is the refresh timeframe between CalGroups and Cerkl?
The process for regular updates from CalGroups to Cerkl can take up to 48 hours.
