A knowledge base article about How do I set LastPass to log out sooner? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
By default, LastPass Premium is set to stay logged in until you log out. If you are not regularly in the habit of logging out of websites when you step away from your work, you will want to change those settings to log you off automatically after a specified period.
To change your settings via the LastPass website:
- Go to LastPass
- Log in with your username (email address) and LastPass master password
- Click the down arrow next to your email address in the upper right corner of the screen, and select Account Settings
- Click on Show Advanced Settings at the bottom of the popup screen
- Scroll down to Website Auto-Logoff and click the dropdown menu to select one of the other time frame options. We recommend selecting 15 minutes.
- Click Update.
To change your settings via the plugin toolbar:
- In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon
- Log in with your username (email address) and LastPass master password
- Click the active LastPass icon in your toolbar.
- Click Account Options
- Click Extension Preferences
- Check the box to Log out after this many minutes of inactivity and enter a value. We recommend entering 15.
- Click save.
