File formats, system & browser requirements for Box and Box Sync

Box has specific technical requirements for both its browser based and application (Box Sync) access methods.

Box System Requirements:

• A user must have an active CalNetID / bConnected (@berkeley.edu) account for access.
• View Box browser and OS requirements
  
  • Note that Java is only required for the bulk upload functionality of the website
• View system requirements for the Box Sync Application

Supported file formats & limitations in Box:

  • A few basic restrictions exist on a limited number of file types. See the Which File Types Are Ignored Or Blocked In Box Sync? article on the Box website for more information.
  • Specific upload limitations exist on the maximum size of a file
