Zoom Service Offerings

Zoom Licensed accounts are funded through the Productivity Suite tax and Student Technology Fee, and have no direct charge to eligible users. Additional Zoom services such as webinar, large meeting or call out feature add-ons can be purchased through the Telecom Catalog System (see pricing list below).

There are multiple types of UC Berkeley Zoom accounts available:

Zoom Licensed	Licensed account holders can host Zoom meetings with unlimited minutes for up to 300 participants.	Registered students Faculty and other academic titles, including Emeriti  Staff UCPath Affiliates, except Staff Retirees and Alumni Special Purpose Accounts (SPAs)
Zoom Basic	Basic account holders have a 40 minute limit on group meetings, with up to 100 participants, and unlimited 1 to 1 meetings.	Individuals in their Grace Period, including former students, former employees, and former affiliates  Concurrent Enrollment students UC Berkeley Extension students

Zoom Plus Features	Toll Audio - $0.0149/minute (1.49 cents per minute) charged to the participant when dialing into a zoom toll access number. Toll Free Audio - $0.025/minute (2.5 cents per minute) charged to the host when each participant dials a Zoom toll-free access number. • We highly recommend that Large Meeting and Webinar Licenses are assigned to a Special Purpose Account (SPA) rather than an individual's Zoom account so that it can be shared within the department. 
• Cloud Room Connectors (CRC) Licenses are shared among all CRC users. A Cloud Room Connector License allows you to connect to a H.323/SIP room system. 
• Zoom Room Licenses are shared among all Zoom Room users and are assigned to a specific conference room.

How to order

You can purchase a Zoom add-on license at any time during the year. Keep in mind that Zoom's annual license cycle begins October 30th, so pricing for add-ons purchased mid-year will be prorated and will be reflected on your invoice. Example: Add-on services ordered on April 5th will be prorated from April 5th through October 30th. Then the following year, the license will be renewed for the full annual rate, beginning October 30th. 

Note: Licenses are a one-time purchase that are automatically renewed every October, and cannot be upgraded or downgraded once purchased through Zoom.

There is a known error in how the pricing details appear in the Telecom Catalog System, in which it states the fees are calculated monthly. Please do not be alarmed, we assure you that the license fees are annual.
