Google Meet Terms of Service

Google Meet is a video conferencing service offered by Google and covered by our UC systemwide contract for Google Workspace for Education. Google Meet is an excellent solution for both individuals and businesses to meet on audio and video calls. You can start a chat conversation, video call, or phone call with up to 100 people at a time on the web, mobile phones, or tablets. Meet sessions sync automatically across devices. Sessions started on a computer, can be continued on another device. Google Meet is fully integrated with Google Calendar and is available with just one click. Learn more about Google Meet

Google Meet User Eligibility

UC Berkeley faculty, emeriti, staff, students, concurrent enrollment students, visiting scholars, visiting student researchers, postdocs, departmental Special Purpose Accounts (SPA), and affiliates who have active CalNet IDs. Alumni who have claimed their @berkeley.edu account offered through @Cal Alumni Network are also eligible. Please review account eligibility for more details.

• Avoid content that defames or threatens others
• Avoid making statements that are bigoted, hateful, or racially offensive
• Avoid discussing illegal activities with the intent to commit them
• Avoid material that contains vulgar or obscene language or images
• Avoid advertising or any form of commercial solicitation

Protecting the confidentiality and integrity of Berkeley campus data is everyone’s responsibility. UC Berkeley expects all users to employ reasonable and appropriate safeguards concerning the information they transmit with Google Meet. Users should familiarize themselves with Data Classifications Standard and Keeping Sensitive Data Safe before utilizing these services. • Never post the connection details for a videoconference on a public site or social media (instead, distribute the details privately to people who RSVP).

Accessibility

Users with disabilities can participate in Google Meet video meetings using accessibility features in Meet, Chrome Browser, and Google meeting room hardware
