What is an electronic signature and why should I use one?
An electronic signature is a modern computer-based alternative to the traditional handwritten (also called "wet") signature. Unlike a handwritten signature, an electronic signature is difficult to forge because it contains encrypted information that is unique to the signer. The most common type of electronic signature on campus is Adobe's "certificate-based" signature. Using an electronic signature can save a significant amount of time, as you will no longer need to print, sign, and scan each form that requires a signature.
