A knowledge base article about How do I set up a Zoom Licensed account for a Special Purpose Account (SPA)? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
You can associate a Zoom Licensed account with a new or existing Special Purpose Account. This will allow multiple people in your department to use the Zoom license without the need for a shared password.
We recommend using a SPA when you purchase an add-on license (large meeting or webinar) This will allow multiple people within your department to start the webinar/large meetings.
1) If you do not already have a SPA that you wish to use with Zoom
- Create a Berkeley Special Purpose Account
- Add members to the SPA to allow others to log in and use the Zoom account.
2) To get a Zoom Licensed account for your SPA
- Important: Ensure that you have created a bMail account for your SPA. See Managing SPA-Affiliated bMail Accounts for details.
- Go to https://berkeley.zoom.us/signin
- Log in using your SPA. See Log in as a SPA for details.
3) To request additional services for your SPA's Zoom account
Zoom accounts owned by SPAs are entitled to standard Zoom licenses, which include the ability to host meetings for up to 300 people. If you want additional features, such as the ability to host Webinars, Larger meetings, or allow dial-out or 800 number dial-in, you'll need to order those features after you have created your SPA's Zoom account.
- Important: Ensure that you have already created a Zoom Licensed account for your SPA, as described above.
- Submit the Telecom Catalog request for the additional features. If you do not have authorization, select an approver from your department and they will enter the billing information.
4) To start a meeting associated with the SPA (including webinars and large meetings)
- Go to Zoom and click on 'Sign In'
- Log in using your SPA. See Log in as a SPA for details.
- You will be taken into the Zoom system, as the SPA
- You can now schedule or start a webinar or large meeting
