Does the data on my IST managed Windows server get backed up?

The Windows Team will order a UC Backup TSM node and configure it for you.  Our backups are configured to back up some of the operating system files located on the C: drive along with customer data (usually the E: drive).  Backups are scheduled to run once a day, typically at night, with a 31 day retention period.  Daily and weekly reports are sent to the Windows team, although daily reports can be sent to a customer email address if requested.  Customers wishing to receive backup report emails should provide a list address instead of an individual email address.

Customers requiring a different configuration can contact the Windows Team for most changes.  Changes to what specifically gets backed up (Ex. a specific location on E: rather than the whole drive) will need to be coordinated with the customer, the Windows Team, and the UC Backup team.  The customer will work with the UC Backup team to create a custom option set the TSM client will use to include/exclude data and will inform the Windows Team when it is in place if any configuration adjustments in the client configuration on the server is needed.

Managed Windows servers will eventually get transitioned from using TSM over to Commvault.   The Commvault solution will provide a more robust way to back up and restore files, folders, and entire virtual servers.
