To embed Kaltura Media using the Rich Content Editor

  1. With the Rich Content Editor open, click Embed Kaltura Media.

Rich Content Editor toolbar with Embed Kaltura Media button highlighted

  1. From the window that opens up on the page, if the media you want to embed is already in your My Media or a Media Gallery, click on the appropriate tab.
  2. If you are happy with the default embed settings: Click the </>Embed button next to the media you want to embed. The media will be embedded on the page using default settings. (Students will be asked if they want to submit as an assignment before the media is embedded; unless an instructor has directed students to do so, they can click "No, thanks".)
  3. If you'd like to have more control over how your video appears:
    1. click the settings button for the media item (gear icon to the left of the Embed button).
    2. You will then be able to select different players (e.g. whether it displays a transcript or not) and player sizes and a Start Time.
      • Note that the "Thumbnail Embed" setting does not have any impact on any of the players you can select at this time.
      • Students who are directed by their instructors to submit a video as an assignment, should toggle on "Submit as Assignment".
    3. Click the </>Embed button in the upper right of the window when done. The media will be embedded on the page with the settings you have selected.
