J179 Users Guide-Short Version (without the Features description)

Avaya-J179-ADA-User-Guide-v4.pdf (for blind users of the J.179 phone)

Introduction

The high-performing VoIP Desktop Phone J179 features a color display, four soft keys, high-definition audio quality, an integrated Gigabit Ethernet interface, headset support, and up to three 24-button Expansion Modules.

If you are familiar with operating 9404, 9408, and 2420 digital phones, you will find the operation of J179 phones quite similar.

MUST READ INFORMATION:

VoIP Phones only work with the data port where the phone is installed, and the location of the phone is reported to UCPD when 911 is dialed.

Moving your phone will break this feature and will cause a life/safety issue in case of an emergency.

To move your phone to another location, have your department submit a ‘Voice Services - Move Request’.
