A service overview and catalog of Microsoft provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.
Description
Microsoft provides a collection of services: Microsoft 365 Apps, which includes access to Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Microsoft Project, which is designed for project management; and Microsoft Visio, for diagramming and vector graphics. It comes with access to the latest features, security patches, and fixes.

- UC Berkeley licensed MS software must be uninstalled from personally-owned devices upon separation from the university.
- Microsoft 365 does not include: OneDrive, OneNote, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Forms, PowerApps, Microsoft Stream, Office Scripts, and Microsoft 365 web apps (Word online, Excel online).
Getting Started
Microsoft 365
- Registered students do not need to request a license.
- As of October 30, 2023, incoming faculty, staff, and eligible affiliates who intend to use Microsoft 365 Apps will need to request a license.
- If you are currently using Microsoft Office, no further steps are required. However, if you previously claimed a license but have not used Microsoft Office within the last year, you will need to claim a new license.

- Sign in with @berkeley.edu address (choose “Company or School Account”)
Microsoft Project & Microsoft Visio
- To Install on UC Berkeley Managed Windows Computers, go to BigFix then download from BigFix.
- Not available on personally-owned devices or Mac computers.
Service Details
Microsoft 365 is available to Faculty, Staff, Students, and certain Affiliates. View your
Software and Services Eligibity.
Faculty and staff are eligible for Microsfot Project and Microsoft Visio.
