A service overview and catalog of Mathematica provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

Mathematica is a computational software program used in many scientific, engineering, mathematical and computing fields.

Physics Faculty & Instruction: If you will use Mathematica for instruction, research, or job duties in the Physics Department please request your license by submitting the 2026-2027 Physics Mathematica License Request Form and select Physics.
All other departments’ faculty and staff, as well as all students using Mathematica for coursework, please request your license via the 2026-27 Mathematica License Request Form and select UC Berkeley.
To create additional keys, use the "Generate another activation key >>" link in the Wolfram User Portal. For help with large orders, email software@berkeley.edu

Alpha Pro includes “broad computational resources, including powerful servers running complex algorithms."
To request a subscription to Alpha Pro, submit the Wolfram Alpha Pro Request form.

Eligibility	This service is available to Faculty, Staff, Students, and certain Affiliates. View your Software and Services Eligibility.

Availability	Available 24/7. Support is provided Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.
Cost	There are no direct costs associated with this service, except for those within the Physics Department.
Data Classification	This service is rated for Protection Level P1, Availability Level A1, and Recovery Level R1 data. Compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring data handled within this service complies with the Data and IT Resource Classification Standards.
