CalKronos Time & Attendance System

A service overview and catalog of CalKronos Time & Attendance System provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

CalKronos is a timekeeping system built upon labor and policy standards which enable campus employees to track their time worked, leave taken, and approve their timecard at the end of each pay period. Additionally supervisors review and approve the time certifying the information recorded is accurate and complete.

This system goes live in July of 2026.

Eligible employees that have an active appointment in the UCPath HR system with an employee ID are required to report hours worked and or leave taken are automatically imported and granted access to the timekeeping system once

Service Details

Eligibility

This service is available to employees in leave accruing staff jobs who are biweekly paid and meet the following requirements:
All bi-weekly paid employees in the following Unions:

  • Skilled Crafts (KB) - ACBCTC
  • Service Unit (SX) - AFSCME
  • Patient Care Technical (EX) - AFSCME
  • Police Officers (PA) and Police Sergeants (SA) – FUPOA

Additional employees:

  • Non-student UC Police Department (UCPD) employees who are paid bi-weekly
  • These additional job titles in Student Affairs Dining Services:
    • Blank Ast 1 (CX) - Teamsters 2010
    • Clerk SR/SCR (CX) - Teamsters 2010
    • Chef 2 (PPSM)rs (PA) and Police Sergeants (SA) – FUPOA

Out of scope:

  • By agreement appointments
  • All employees using the TRS timekeeping system that do not conform to the eligibility requirements listed above.

Availability

Available 24/7. Support is provided Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.

Cost

Costs for the timekeeping system are centrally supported. However if a department requests an additional or new timeclock at a location the department must pay the cost of the timeclock, installation and networking fees. A quote is provided at the time the request is submitted.
