Campus Network Connection

A service overview and catalog of Campus Network Connection provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

This service offering provides wired (ethernet) connections to the campus network. These types of connections are typically used by campus departments for administrative uses or by research labs where dedicated, high speed network connectivity is required.

Most users of the campus network should use eduroam, the Campus Wi-Fi service, to access the network.

Cost

For campus community members activation and use of existing ports is provided as part of the Data Network Assessment. There are no additional charges to departments or users.

There is a one time charge for installation of new port(s).

Data Classification

This service is rated for Protection Level P2,  Availability Level A4, and Recovery Level RL4 data.
