A service overview and catalog of API Management provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.
Description
UC Berkeley's API Management platform (also known as API Central) makes campus APIs easily discovered, well-documented, easy to use, and secure.
The platform consists of:
- Developer Portal, which displays APIs on a central site so they’re easy to discover, provides detailed and interactive documentation so they’re easy to use, and manages access to them for security and privacy
- The API Gateway is an internal tool which hides both the internal workings of the source data system and the physical host of APIs from clients; centralizes functions common to all APIs, such as load balancing, authentication, authorization, network security, and rate limiting; and provides row and column level fine grained data authorization
