UC Berkeley's Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platform provides a centralized framework for managing digital identities across the university. This suite of integrated tools enables secure provisioning, lifecycle management, and access governance for all campus users — including students, faculty, and staff.

Getting Started

CalNet offers 3 types of user accounts: CalNet ID, Special Purpose Account (SPA) and CalNet Sponsored Guests.

Employees, students, affiliates and alums can manage your own CalNet accounts via CalNet Account Manager.
Employees who provide technical support to campus users can obtain access to the CalNet Admin Tool.
Campus developers can reach out to calnet-admin@berkeley.edu for information regarding Berkeley Person Registry and its databases, and other Identity Management governance issues.

Eligibility	This service is available to Faculty, Staff, Students, Researchers, Alumni, and Affiliates.

Availability	Available 24/7. Support is provided Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.
Cost	There are no direct costs associated with this service.
Data Classification	This service is rated for P4, A3, and R3 data. Compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring data handled within this service complies with the Data and IT Resource Classification Standards.
