A service overview and catalog of CalNet Directory Update Application provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

The CalNet Directory Update App allows you to control what data is displayed about you in the UC Berkeley campus directory.

Privacy preference options include:

Students and employees have different editing abilities:

Students can view and set display preferences for their names and pronouns.
Employees (including student employees) can view and set display preferences for name, pronouns, email address, campus phone number, and work address.

Provides field-by-field privacy settings, allowing you to choose whether specific data—like your phone number or email—is visible to the Public, only to Logged-in CalNet users, or Not visible to anyone.
Provides single interface to manage your Lived Name, professional contact details, and pronouns to ensure your campus identity accurately reflects your personal preferences and professional needs without requiring complex technical requests.

How can I update my directory listing?

Navigate to CalNet Account Manager and log in using your CalNet ID and passphrase.
Click on Directory Update on the left side menu.
Once logged in, you will see your name as well as contact data fields.
Use the drop-down menu for each field to select how you want that information displayed in the directory.
Hit the “Save” button to retain your selections.

Eligibility	This service is available to Faculty, Staff, and Students.

Availability	Available 24/7. Support is provided Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.
Cost	There are no direct costs associated with this service.
Data Classification	This service is rated for P4, A3, and R3 data. Compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring data handled within this service complies with the Data and IT Resource Classification Standards.
