CalNet 2-Step Verification

A service overview and catalog of CalNet 2-Step Verification provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

CalNet 2-Step Verification helps you ensure that you are the only person who can access your CalNet account, even if someone steals your password. You will log in using your CalNet credentials and as a second step, reconfirm your identity using a verification device.

All employees, affiliates, students, and alumni are required to use 2-Step verification at UC Berkeley.

CalNet 2-Step Verification is primarily used as part of the CalNet single-sign on (SSO) process. This service may also be integrated with other campus services such as remote desktop access, SSH, and VPNs.
