A service overview and catalog of Zoom provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.
Zoom is a campus-supported, licensed video conferencing service that enables individuals at UC Berkeley to host virtual meetings, classes, and events using advanced collaboration features beyond the basic Zoom experience.
Note:
Webinar and Large Meeting functionality are available through separately purchased licenses, annually renewed Zoom Webinar or Zoom Large Meeting add-ons, which will require an additional charge.
Schedule and join meetings from desktop, web, or mobile applications.
Host video meetings with extended duration (up to 30 hours)and up to 300 participants.
Present and collaborate with in-meeting capabilities such as screen share, whiteboards, annotations, breakout rooms, surveys, reactions and live polling.
Record and temporarily store meetings and accompanying transcriptions to Zoom Cloud for up to 30 days.
Best Use: Securely hosting and managing large or interactive meetings, classes, and training with advanced collaboration and engagement features.
Options: Available via web browser, web and mobile apps. Optional add-ons available for purchase: Large Meeting, Webinar, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Plus (toll-free dial-in).
Integrates with: Google Calendar, Gmail and bCourses.
Internet access, camera, microphone, and speakers are required for full functionality.
Standard meetings support up to 300 participants; for increased capacity, consider Large Meeting or Webinar license add-ons.
Cloud recordings are retained for 30 days.
Use of Zoom AI Companion features are only approved for P2 conversations and data.
Persistent whiteboard sharing is not enabled at this time.

Individuals with an eligible license may schedule and host meetings immediately. For those who are new to UC Berkeley or whose affiliation was recently updated, allow up to 24 hours for systems to update before a Zoom Meeting License can be provisioned.
