Description

Gmail is a campus-wide web-based email service, which provides @berkeley.edu email addresses for current students, faculty, staff, and eligible affiliates at no cost with no advertisements. UC Berkeley’s Gmail is approved for UC P3 data and must be used for all University business.

Benefits & Features

Organize your inbox through labels, tabs, and categories, with the ability to archive email no longer needed in the inbox.
Best Use: For academic, administrative, and professional communication in all business systems, including those that do not require CalNet authentication.
Options: Accessible via the web or Gmail mobile app or third-party email application. Configure the Gmail mobile app to view email from multiple different accounts.
Integrates with: Google Workspace services and applications, including Drive, Calendars, Chat and Meet.

Service Details

Eligibility	This service is available to current students, faculty, staff and eligible affiliates are provided an @berkeley.edu email address. Eligible alumni can participate in the Alumni Email Service.
Contact	Gmail Help Google Workspace Status Dashboard Technical Support: For troubleshooting or reporting a service interruption, please submit a support ticket / contact the Service Desk at 510-664-9000.
Availability	Available 24/7. Support is provided Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.
Cost	There are no direct costs associated with this service.
Data Classification	This service is rated for P3; A2; R5 data. Compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring data handled within this service complies with the Data and IT Resource Classification Standards.
