A service overview and catalog of PostgreSQL Service provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

The PostgreSQL service provides a PostgreSQL server (or "instance") for client use. PostgreSQL (or simply "Postgres") is an open source, object-relational database system that has the features of traditional proprietary database systems with many enhancements found in next-generation DBMS systems.

This service is available to UC Berkeley researchers, departmental IT, bIT service providers, and affiliated institutions

Availability

Support and services are provided during standard business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.

Outages outside of the 8am-5pm window are addressed on a best effort basis

Cost

$ 799.00 /month includes:

  • 10 GB storage
  • Shared (Dev, QA, and Prod) environments
  • 25 hours per year of consulting


Additional consulting: $178/hr

Dedicated Virtual Machine: $779/month

Data Classification

This service is rated for Protection Level P4,  Availability Level A3, and Recovery Level R3 data.

Compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring data handled within this service complies with the Data and IT Resource Classification Standards.
