Oracle Service

A service overview and catalog of Oracle Service provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.

Description

The Oracle Service provides an Enterprise Edition Oracle database for client use. The Oracle database is an object relational database management system (RDBMS), produced and supported by the Oracle Corporation. The Oracle database was originally developed in 1977 and is one of the most widely-used relational database engines.

This service is available to UC Berkeley researchers, departmental IT, bIT service providers, and affiliated institutions

Availability

Support and services are provided during standard business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.

Outages outside of the 8am-5pm window are addressed on a best effort basis

Data Classification

This service is rated for Protection Level P4,  Availability Level A3, and Recovery Level R3 data.
